Vista Print

vistaprintWhat is on the site and how it works:

You may be a bit overwhelmed when you first go to www.vistaprint.com but it shouldn’t take long to figure out your way around. Realize that there is a lot of sale on this page and it will make it easier. You can buy oversized postcards, office accessories, address labels that you can upload your own logo on, and the Premium business cards which are $9.99 for 250. The site helps you choose your purchases with many suggestions and options such as Shopping by Style which gives you for example the most popular card, the new arrivals, high impact (My current cards), Invitation Cards, Personal Cards, and Special Offers. You can shop by industry, for example, Creative Arts, Floral - Gift, Health - Wellness and Child Care. You can upload your own design but that will cost you more money, starting at $19.98.

What most people I know are buying, at least at first to try out the site, is VistaPrint’s offer of free business cards. I got 250 wonderful cards and had many designs from which to choose and many ways I could design my card. When you click the link to the free business cards you will see a link that says shipping and handling charges may apply. They do apply. These are not quite free. They cost $5.25.

We are told that the cards are made on premium quality stock, there are 30 templates from which to choose and your own personal text can be put on it. I will take you through my buying of my new cards. They are made on 14-point paper stock and are 3.43 inches across by 1.93 inches down. They are a traditional business-card size. VistaPrint is not skimping on their cards. I was interested in the new arrivals and the most popular business cards.

The new arrivals are very pretty. The hardest part other than slow page loading will be choosing a design. The new ones include a lighthouse, bicycle and child’s handprint designs. The Personal Cards link has sailboats, teddy bears and flowerpots. My current card is under the High Impact link.

The Most Popular cards have a couple that really caught my eye and I decided to go with the one with ½ of a sun.

I put in my name, address, job title, company name and message under that. In place of fax, I put in my cell phone number. After adding the information that is on my current card with my new e-mail address I was able to preview it and make changes to it. You can have a custom backside but that will cost you extra – between $15 - $25.00. On the back without it being customized you are advertising VistaPrint.com. It says their name with “Business Cards are FREE at www. Vistaprint.com!" I put my cards either on magnets or I put a piece of magnet on the back very often so customizing the back is not something I would do.

You will then be asked to either sign in if you are returning or register if you are new. The next page allows me to put in the 250 cards I want but you can order more for more money. It is here that shipping charges are shown as well as the opportunity again to pick a backside or buy a cardholder. I am told it will take 21 days to receive my cards at the $5.25 rate. I can also pick a matte finish for no extra charge or a glossy finish for an additional $9.99.

I then put in my shipping information.

Shipping:

Slow shipping takes about 21 Days for $5.25. Standard will take about 14 Days for $8.95 and Priority takes about 7 Days for $12.95. International shipping destinations cost more and you can find that on this page.
