Skechers
The Skechers website is an easy to navigate one that I frequent often. They make it very easy to buy Skechers shoes for the whole family. Maybe too easy!
It's an excellent site that I have never had any issues with over the course of many transactions.
What the Site Sells
This site sells Skechers footwear for the whole family and some Skechers apparel.
Navigation, Shipping, and Returns
The site isn't flashy. The front page tells you about the sales and new styles. On the side are links to Women's, Men's, or Kids shoes or Clothing. There is also a search box for a keyword search. At the top of the site is what always gets me. A link to the styles that are 40% off of retail prices. New styles are being added all the time and the prices are so good, it's hard not to pick up a style or five from that section.
Once you click on a choice above, you can hone down the search by looking for styles in certain sizes, colors, or price ranges.
Photos are good. There are many views of the shoes and there is an option to make them larger and to see details. The descriptions are ample. Choose a size and color and add the item to your cart. Continue until you max out your credit card. Ha.
Each time you add an item to the cart, you'll see a summary of what you have chosen so far. You will see the magic word "Free" in the shipping area because it's always free for members of the site. There is no minimum threshold for the free shipping.
When you finish shopping, checking out is a breeze. Either log in or fill out your personal details, supply a credit card, and you are done. You'll get a confirmation email and a shipping one. Orders arrive quickly, packaged well.
Shipping is always free if you are a Skechers Email Club SKX member. You never have to pay a shipping fee in the US. It is free to join and you can do that with your first order. You will then get periodic emails about sales and specials and will always get free shipping. There is never any tax either (unless you have orders shipped to California). Gotta love that! If you choose not to sign up for Skechers Email Club SKX, the shipping is a flat $8.50 per order. But why would anyone NOT sign up for a free "club" that saves shipping charges and gives you special codes for deals, 60% off merchandise, and more?
Returns and Exchanges are accepted within 45 days of shipment. There is no restocking fee and no charge for shipping the exchange to you.
My Experience
I have a load of Skechers and really like the brand. I discovered Skechers Online Store when they were having a blow out sale and I never went anywhere else to buy Skechers again.
The site is easy to navigate and the styles are the latest. I am drawn to the 40% off page every time. They often send me offers for 60% off those shoes and that's when I really stock up. I buy with confidence because I know how Skechers fit and I also know I can return them with no penalty if they don't fit. I have never returned a pair of shoes I bought from the site though.
I simply choose what I want and go through the checkout. I am not charged tax or shipping ever. I have always received my confirmation emails and my shipping ones and my orders have always been complete and correct. All shoes are in the original boxes and clearly not tried on or worn, with the tissue in the toes and the cardboard inside to them to keep their shape.
The photos make it easy to choose what I want and I have never gotten a pair of shoes that didn't look exactly like they were pictured. I haven't bought Skechers clothing from the site because it isn't my style.
I plan to continue shopping on the Skechers website. I see no reason to go elsewhere for Skechers unless there is a mega sale somewhere and I can save a lot less than if I bought the same shoes from the official site. Still, with no shipping or tax, I always get a good deal on the Skechers site!
Conclusion
What's not to love? If you like Skechers, sign up for their emails and save on shipping and tax every order. Get advance notice of new styles, sales, and special promotions. Put your faves on your wish list to buy at a later date. Check your order history. It's all there. I give Skechers Online Store a coveted 5 star rating. I have never once had any sort of issue with the site and I doubt I will. If I do, I know Skechers will make it right.
