Hotels.com

hotelscomI recommend that everyone use hotel.com. They have a huge selection of hotels listed alphabetically and by quality. I prefer viewing by quality. 5 star, 4 star, 3 star, etc. Just choose your destination and click on hotel names for accurate info. You can compare locations, (maps available) amenities and, of course, prices. Hotels.com offers sizeable discounts on quality hotels. The further in advance you book, the better price you get. If you book at the last minute you can still get a decent price, but the selection is limited.

If you’ve never booked a hotel online before and if you’re like me you’re saying, “OK, this sounds OK so far, but what happens when I get there? Will my reservation be screwed up? Will I get the bed configuration I requested? Will I get the price I was quoted or is there some catch?”

I have used the Hotels.com several times and my reservations have always been correct. You receive a confirmation in your e-mail. (I always call the hotel to double-check). The beds --- 1 Queen, 2 Double, etc. have always been as I requested --- although Hotels.com does NOT guarantee this. The price is right on, not a penny different one way or the other.

There is one drawback to this service. You cannot request specialties like a view. I have gotten some street views and some back alley views.

For last minute booking you may want to compare Hotels.com to QUICKBOOK---(www.quickbook.com) to see who has the best choices. I have only used QUICKBOOK once. You cannot actually book online. You must call them by telephone. When I used their service the reservation dates were right, the beds were wrong (hotel’s error) and the price was right.

It is my E-PINION that Hotels.com and QUICKBOOK are a convenient, fast, accurate and affordable way to make hotel reservations.

At times, I have problems calling these sites up by their URL's. If this should happen just go to your "Search the Web" feature and type in "Hotel Discounts". There you will find these and other hotel discount information.
